打從 1991 年 Nirvana 的 Nevermind 專輯, 將 嘈雜不修邊幅的 油漬 Grunge 搖滾音樂推進主流市場 獲致空前迴響以後, 這類在 另類音樂圈 從就不曾缺席的吶喊之音 慢慢開始也成為主流唱片體系 攻占新生代市場生財的眼光
Brand New 出身紐約, 帶 另類搖滾 Alternative rock 硬蕊 Hardcore 情緒化爆炸大音量的色彩, 也有 流行叛客 Pop punk 著墨柔性的訴求。 小 Morrissey ( 22 May 1959- ) 近兩個十年的主唱 Jesse Lacey, 其實是 The Smiths 的樂迷!
至今四張專輯 發行均為主流唱片的子體系。 我在這兩支骷顱面具相覷的封面面前相遇 The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me 標題, 好奇應該是始於這時候。
2006 年的 The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, 標題裡有 '魔鬼' 與 '上帝', 專輯裡有代表曲 "耶穌", 這是他們至今較受好評的專輯, 在 NME 「近十年來一百張最棒專輯」有 74 的名次。 打出名氣後, 2009 年的 「雛菊」Daisy 在流行榜成績較優。 封面現身一隻森林中 不明的動物
